We recently held one of our very popular CEO Academy’s that are run in association with Octopus Investments. This time the focus was on a Culture and how to maintain and nurture culture in a fast growth, multi-geo company.
New Deloitte research shows that culture, engagement, and employee retention are now the top talent challenges facing business leaders. More than half business leaders rate this issue as “urgent” – up from only around 20% last year. Our Culture Workshop was designed to help the group of handpicked startups with those challenges.
The Academy was facilitated by Annicken R. Day, founder and a culture strategist of Corporate Spring, previously Chief Cultural Officer at Tandberg and then Cisco (post $3.3bn acquisition). She has over 20 years’ experience of building highly engaged, vibrant corporate cultures wired for collaboration, change, innovation and growth.
The workshop was a great success thanks to a group of highly engaged attendees, majority of which were founders and CEO’s of growth companies like Graze, Sofar, CloudPay and Property Partner. We received some great feedback from the attendees too:
“I’m still glowing from the positive energy emitted by Annicken. It is very easy to be “cynical” about intangible factors like “being happy at work” as they appear to be difficult objectives to quantify. I think it was an important reminder to be mindful of the key component of most businesses…PAOGA – People Are Our Greatest Assets.”
Jan Quant, CEO and Co-Founder at Screendragon
“I really enjoyed the workshop and thought it was well worth the time coming.”
Amanda King, CFO and COO at Origamy Energy
“I liked the event a lot, thought the speaker quality was great and there was some really interesting input from the audience, everyone was obviously really engaged in the topic.”
